# How to create a gift card (mobile)

In this article, you will learn how to create a gift card from a template or without a template in the **Zoyya partner web app on a mobile phone**.

A gift card represents a monetary value that a client can use for services. You can select a client while creating the gift card or leave it without an owner and associate it with a client later.

## Opening a new gift card

1. Open the **Main menu**.
2. Under **Sales and loyalty**, expand **Gift cards and packages**, then tap **Sales**.
3. Tap **+**.
4. Select **From template** or **Without template**.
5. Tap **Continue**.

## Creating from a template

1. Select the gift card template.
2. Tap **Next step**. **Client selection** opens.
3. Select a client if needed.
4. If you selected a client and want to send the gift card information, enable **Send email to client**.
5. Tap **Next step**.
6. Review the information and tap **Create gift card**.

The gift card information is copied from the template. To change it, edit the template before issue by following [How to create a gift card template for online sales (mobile)](https://zoyya.crisp.help/en/article/how-to-create-a-gift-card-template-for-online-sales-mobile-3gz9sg/).

## Creating without a template

1. Select **Gift card** to open **Basic information**.
2. Enter the **Name** and set the **Validity**, **Value**, **Price** and **Discount** if needed.
3. Tap **Next step**.
4. If the gift card should apply only to part of the offer, enable **Limit the gift card to selected services** and select individual services or service types.
5. Tap **Next step**.
6. Edit the **Description** and **Terms of use**, then tap **Next step**.
7. Select a design or upload your own image, adjust the displayed text and tap **Next step**.
8. Select a client if needed and enable **Send email to client**.
9. Tap **Next step**.
10. Review the information and tap **Create gift card**.

The new gift card receives a unique Zoyya code and appears in **Gift card and service package sales**.

|| Important: Selecting a client is optional. A gift card without an owner can be sold or assigned to a client later.

|| If you charge the gift card in the cash register, charge it and issue the receipt before linking it to an appointment or recording its use.

## Frequently asked questions

### When is a template useful?

A template speeds up issue when you often use the same value, price, validity, restrictions, terms or gift card design.

### Does editing a template change gift cards that were already created?

No. An issued gift card keeps the information it had when it was created.

### Can I limit the gift card to selected services?

Yes. In the services step, enable **Limit the gift card to selected services** and select service types or individual services.

### How do I change the validity date of an existing gift card?

1. Open the relevant gift card.
2. Change its status from **Active** to **In preparation**.
3. Change the **validity date**.
4. Set the status back to **Active** and select **Save**.

|| Important: The changed validity applies only to the selected gift card. It does not change the template or other issued gift cards.
