# How to connect an Apple iCloud calendar to Zoyya (desktop)

This article explains how to connect an Apple iCloud calendar to an employee in Zoyya using the Zoyya partner web app on desktop. Events from the iCloud calendar are imported into Zoyya and block the selected employee’s time.

**PLATFORM_SWITCH:** [Desktop](https://help.zoyya.com/en/article/en-how-to-connect-an-apple-icloud-calendar-to-zoyya-desktop-17nuabu/) · [Mobile](https://help.zoyya.com/en/article/en-how-to-connect-an-apple-icloud-calendar-to-zoyya-mobile-9wuu5b/)

## Before you start

To connect the calendar, you need a **subscription link to a publicly shared iCloud calendar**. The calendar must be stored in iCloud; local calendars and calendars belonging to other accounts in Apple’s Calendar app are not automatically iCloud calendars.

The employee must already be saved in Zoyya, and you need permission to edit employees and resources to access the **Calendar sync** tab. The feature must be enabled for your branch.

|| Important: To obtain the link, you must mark the iCloud calendar as a **Public Calendar**. Anyone with this link can view the events. Do not publicly share a calendar containing sensitive data; if necessary, create a separate iCloud calendar to block busy time.

## Find the link to your iCloud calendar

1. On your computer, open [iCloud Calendar](https://www.icloud.com/calendar/) and sign in with your Apple account.
2. In the sidebar, find the iCloud calendar you want to connect and open the calendar information button.
3. Enable **Public Calendar**.
4. Select **Copy** to copy the calendar subscription link.

## Connect the calendar to Zoyya

1. Open **Settings > Employees and resources > Employees** in the Zoyya partner web app.
2. Select the employee whose Apple iCloud calendar you want to connect.
3. Open the **Calendar sync** tab and click **Add import source**.
4. In **Name**, enter a recognizable name, for example **Apple iCloud – Ana**.
5. Select **Apple iCloud** under **Provider**.
6. Paste the prepared ICS/iCal link into **ICS URL**.
7. If you wish, select a **Color** and make sure **Enabled** is on.
8. Click **Preview** to check whether Zoyya recognizes the expected events. Preview does not import appointments.
9. Close the preview and click **Add**.
10. Click **Sync now** on the saved source to start importing immediately.
11. Check **Last successful sync** and the number of **Processed events**, then check the employee’s calendar.

After connecting the calendar, Zoyya continues to check the source periodically. You do not need to start every sync manually.

## How syncing works

This source syncs in **one direction: Apple iCloud → Zoyya**. Events from the published iCloud calendar are transferred to Zoyya as busy time for the selected employee. Make changes in the iCloud calendar. Zoyya does not change the original iCloud calendar through this connection; the separate **ICS export** option is not the same as two-way editing.

If several employees use separate calendars, repeat the procedure on each employee’s profile and use their corresponding link.

## Check or update the connected calendar

On the **Calendar sync** tab, you can click **Sync now** to import manually or **Edit** to change the source settings. If you are the calendar owner, you can open **Preview** for a saved source and check the events. Other authorized users can check the dates of the last sync attempt and last successful sync.

The ICS link is no longer displayed after it is saved. If it changes, click **Edit**, paste the new link into **New ICS URL (leave empty to keep saved URL)**, and click **Save**.

## Remove the connected source

1. On the **Calendar sync** tab, Find the relevant source and click **Delete**.
2. Choose **Keep future imported appointments** or **Cancel future imported appointments**, depending on whether you want to keep future appointments that have already been imported.
3. Confirm by clicking **Delete source**. Past appointments are not changed.

## If syncing does not work

Check that the selected calendar is actually an **iCloud** calendar and that **Public Calendar** is enabled. An iCloud link may begin with `webcal://`; Zoyya converts it to a secure HTTPS address when it is entered. If you receive an error saying the provider is not allowed, contact Zoyya Support with the domain name, without sending the full link.

Check that **Apple iCloud** is selected as the provider, that the source is marked **Active**, and that the last sync was successful. If the issue persists, provide Zoyya Support with the branch, employee, source name, displayed status, and time of the last attempt. Do not send the full private ICS link.
