# How to connect a Google calendar to Zoyya (mobile)

This article explains how to connect a Google calendar to an employee’s calendar in Zoyya using the Zoyya partner web app on mobile. Events from Google Calendar are imported into Zoyya and block the selected employee’s time to help reduce double bookings.

## Before you start

To connect the calendar, you need the **Secret address in iCal format** for the calendar you want to connect. The Google Calendar mobile app does not show this link, so you need to open Google Calendar in a web browser and request the desktop version of the site.

The employee must already be saved in Zoyya, and you need permission to edit employees and resources to access the **Calendar sync** tab. The feature must be enabled for your branch.

|| Important: The secret iCal link provides access to your Google Calendar data. Do not publish it, share it with other people, or include it in screenshots. Enter it directly in Zoyya to connect the calendar.

## Find the iCal link on mobile

1. Open [Google Calendar](https://calendar.google.com/) in a web browser (Safari or Chrome) and sign in with the Google account you use to manage the calendar you want to connect.
2. Request the **desktop version of the website**:
   - On iPhone, open the page menu in Safari and select **Request Desktop Website**.
   - In Chrome, open the three-dot menu and enable **Desktop site**.
3. In Google Calendar, open the gear icon and select **Settings**.
4. Under **Settings for my calendars**, select the calendar you want to connect.
5. Open **Integrate calendar**.
6. Find **Secret address in iCal format** and copy the entire link.

Do not copy **Public address in iCal format**. If your mobile browser does not let you access the full Google Calendar settings, get the link on a computer and continue connecting it in Zoyya on mobile.

## Connect Google Calendar to Zoyya

1. Open the **Main menu** in the Zoyya partner web app on mobile.
2. Under **Business**, tap **Settings**.
3. Open **Employees and resources > Employees**.
4. Select the employee whose Google Calendar you want to connect.
5. Open the **Calendar sync** tab and tap **Add import source**.
6. In **Name**, enter a recognizable name, for example **Google – Ana**.
7. Select **Google Calendar** under **Provider**.
8. In **ICS URL**, paste the secret iCal link you copied from Google Calendar.
9. If you wish, select a **Color** and make sure **Enabled** is on.
10. Tap **Preview** to check whether Zoyya recognizes the events from the selected Google calendar. Preview does not import appointments yet.
11. Close the preview and tap **Add**.
12. Tap **Sync now** on the saved source to start importing.
13. Check **Last successful sync** and the number of **Processed events**, then check the Zoyya calendar to make sure the employee’s time is correctly blocked.

After connecting the calendar, Zoyya continues to check Google Calendar periodically. You do not need to start every sync manually.

## How syncing works

This source syncs in **one direction: Google Calendar → Zoyya**. Google Calendar events are imported into Zoyya as busy time for the selected employee. Make changes or cancel Google events in Google Calendar; Zoyya picks them up during the next sync.

**Appointments created in Zoyya are not added to Google Calendar through this connection.** The separate **ICS export** option lets you subscribe to a Zoyya calendar in an external calendar app, if it is enabled for your branch. It does not turn this connection into two-way appointment editing.

If each employee has their own Google calendar, repeat these steps for each employee using the corresponding iCal link.

## Check or update the connected calendar

On the **Calendar sync** tab, you can tap **Sync now** to import manually or **Edit** to change the source settings. **Preview** of a saved source is available to the calendar owner; other authorized users can check the last sync attempt and the last successful sync.

The secret iCal link is no longer displayed after it is saved. If it changes, tap **Edit**, paste the new link into **New ICS URL (leave empty to keep saved URL)**, and tap **Save**.

## Remove the connected Google calendar

1. On the **Calendar sync** tab, Find the Google Calendar source and tap **Delete**.
2. Choose **Keep future imported appointments** or **Cancel future imported appointments**, depending on whether you want to keep future appointments that have already been imported.
3. Confirm by selecting **Delete source**. Past appointments are not changed.

## If syncing does not work

Check that you selected **Google Calendar** as the provider, pasted the **Secret address in iCal format** rather than the public address, and that the source is marked **Active**. Then check the source status and the time of the last sync attempt. If you are the calendar owner, you can also open **Preview** for the saved source.

If you cannot see **Secret address in iCal format** in Google Calendar, your Google Workspace account settings may restrict access to that link. Contact your Google account administrator. If you cannot see the **Calendar sync** tab in Zoyya, contact Zoyya Support to check your access and whether the feature is available.
